A week ago, or maybe a little more now, we had one of the largest consecutive snow storms we’ve had in years. The sky over Paris opened and we were just plummeted. It snowed for seven days and seven nights… no, I’m joking, for about 48 hours, though, paralyzing poor little unaccustomed Paris!
A week later, or maybe its been 10 days, we had one of the most beautiful spring days yet! Gorgeous blue sky, 8 degrees (mid 40s), the sun would not stop smiling down upon us.
Here’s a peek at how temperamental early Parisian springtime can be!
You’d think it was the middle of a bleak January week:
And then it’s almost April, with a lovely rainbow to accentuate the difference:

It is very interesting to see snow in Paris. I like how you described that the sky opened up with snow but then 10 days later: “the sun would not stop smiling down upon us.”

Beautiful photos – even in the snow, I miss her beautiful streets and unique atmosphere *sighs*
London has been much the same this last week, with the trees that line the road to my son’s school a picturesque, but stubbornly frozen arch of frost, not melting all week. Then this morning, we woke to 7 degrees, bright blue skies and glorious sunshine. Despite the stubborn piles of snow yet to melt in far flung corners of Greater London, there was a hint of spring in the warmth of its rays. Until you stepped into the shade that is…brrrr!!!

Oh my! And just yesterday as I was making myself some pancakes, I recalled buying those marvelous crepes from the street vendors in Paris and determined to make some crepes Marnier for myself one of these days. Thanks for this lovely photo contrast!

My pleasure! May seems to be on the verge of being a real spring for us! Keeping my fingers crossed for the days when I can go sit on a terrace at a café and eat a crepe! All my best from Paris.

Gorgeous slide show! I hope April will bring warmer days and lots of flowers. I always liked the song, “April in Paris.”
Best wishes,

Thank you, Nancy! I hope things are well in Canada! This April has been the most bizarre weather-wise I’ve experienced so far in Paris. Snow storms, hail, sun shine, rainbows, rain, beautiful warm days… it’s given me a little cold… ;( We just had one week of gorgeous weather, so here’s to that sticking around a little! With love from Paris.

I cant believe I JUST missed the snow in Paris. Like seriously. Being from Finland I dont often get excited from snow, but Paris covered in snow. Amaze. Want to see it. Please snow again. Actually dont. Not liking this cold. But I do want to see how Paris looks in a blanket of snow. Hmmm.

That snowstorm looks pretty severe! On the other hand, the rainbow is just gorgeous! Beautiful shot.
